Applying to EDUCATE: researcher, start-up or SME

Does your company develop educational technology products or services? Or do you have an exciting idea to make teachers’ lives easier through technology?

To be eligible for a place on EDUCATE your company must already be registered in London, or you must be willing to register your business in London. You must have an EdTech product or service, or an idea for one. Your idea can be suitable for any age, subject or skill, as long as it is related to education.

If you would like to speak informally to one of our team in the first instance, please contact BESA.

If you’d like to apply to EDUCATE, please follow this link to a simple application form. You will be asked your name and contact details, information about your idea, product or service and the stage you have reached with your business.

We need to ensure that each applicant is at a stage in their venture where they will benefit from our programme, and that our experts can offer the support you need. If we think you are not yet ready to join the EDUCATE programme, we may invite you to apply again in the future.

Once your application is checked and confirmed as authentic, and we think your idea has potential, we will invite you for an initial Skype call and if this is successful, for an in-person interview.

At the interview you will be invited to pitch and present your idea. At this stage, we will also establish whether you are ‘research ready’. You will be expected to demonstrate your willingness to work with members of the EDUCATE team, and to engage with academic research as part of your product or service development.

We will also expect you to show how your idea can improve teaching and learning, and to tell us what technology you are already using.
